The Parts Room Supervisoris responsible foroverseeing the daily operations of the parts room, ensuring the proper inventory management, storage, and distribution of parts and supplies used in poultry production and maintenance. This role involves supervisingpartsroom staff, coordinating with maintenance teams,maintainingaccurateinventory records, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures.

Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Maintainan accurateinventory of parts, tools, and equipment for poultry production and maintenance operations.

  • Trackpartsusage and reordering to prevent shortages and ensuretimelyavailability.

  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits.

Parts Procurement & Vendor Coordination:

  • Work with suppliers and vendors to order necessary parts and materials.

  • Negotiate pricing and manage purchase orders to ensure cost-effective procurement.

  • Ensuretimelyreceipt and inspection of incoming shipments for quality and accuracy.

Storage & Organization:

  • Implement andmaintainproper storage and labeling systems for parts and supplies.

  • Ensure a clean, organized, and efficientpartsroom to minimize downtime and improve accessibility.

Team Leadership & Supervision:

  • Supervise and trainpartsroom staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

  • Assign tasks andmonitoremployee performance to ensure efficient workflow.

  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.

  • Implement best practices for inventory control to minimize loss, waste, and mismanagement.

  • Conduct safety training and ensure all team members follow workplace safety protocols.

Support for Maintenance & Production Teams:

  • Work closely with maintenance supervisors and production teams to ensure parts availability for repairs and preventive maintenance.

  • Provide quick andaccuratesupport during equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.

  • Maintain records of parts usage for maintenance tracking and reporting.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain detailed records ofpartstransactions, stock levels, and purchase orders.

  • Prepare reports on inventory status, usage trends, and cost analysis.

  • Use computerized inventory management systems to track andoptimizepartsroom operations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; anassociate’sdegree or technical training in supply chain,logistics, or maintenance management is preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in parts inventory management, warehouse operations, or a related role, preferably in poultry or food production.

  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of computerized inventory systems (e.g., CMMS, SAP, or similar).

  • Basic mechanical knowledge to understand part functions and applications.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills to work with multiple departments.

  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in an industrial, agricultural, or poultry processing environment.

  • Knowledge of maintenance and repair parts for poultry processing equipment.

  • Familiarity with procurement procedures and vendor management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy parts and equipment (up to 50lbs).

  • Ability to work in warehouse or production environments with varying temperatures.

  • Standing, walking, and handling inventory for extended periods.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call shifts, as needed.
