ROLE

The Medical Imaging Clerk is responsible for effectively and efficiently performing clerical and administrative support duties including, (but not limited to) patient registration, patient scheduling, answering telephones and maintaining patient imaging records and reports. In addition, the Medical Imaging Clerk I may be responsible for communicating patient care requirements and room utilization, as well as interacting with the Radiologists, charge/senior technologists, technologists, sonographers, nurses, clerks and support staff. Clerical staff may also be responsible for providing a variety of support tasks, such as department payroll, meeting attendance, and participation in department specific projects and initiatives that involve the administrative program.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)

  • Minimum Grade 12 Education
  • Two-year Medical Office Administration Diploma

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)

  • Excellent computer skills
  • Advanced keyboarding and data entry skills
  • Ability to sort, review, check and file various documents
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift and file above shoulder level
  • Team oriented and customer focused; able to interact (written and verbally) on a professional level with a variety of internal and external contacts, healthcare professionals, patients and families
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work, multitask and be flexible to changing circumstances
  • Ability to push/pull a wheelchair

DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE(S) & EDUCATION

  • Previous Medical Imaging and Registration experience preferred
  • Experience with Meditech and Community Wide Scheduling preferred
