Brief description

The main purpose of this position is to manage the end-to-end project security and position sensitivity risk assessment and classification process, ensuring appropriate security measures are implemented for all South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Group projects and related short-term activities.

Detailed description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

  • Contribute to and implement the SARB Group Project Security and the SARB Group Position Sensitivity Risk Management methodologies.

  • Determine and classify the security sensitivity of all SARB Group projects.

  • Define and manage the overall SARB Group post-classification methodology to ensure that positions are correctly classified.

  • Provide security risk guidance on all SARB Group projects to mitigate and manage risks in the provision of the project and secondary risk to the SARB Group.

  • Ensure, through governance processes, that project deliverables conform to recommended security measures during implementation.

  • Liaise and coordinate with specialised functions (e.g. Cyber and Information Security Unit) to provide tailored security governance for SARB Group projects.

  • Provide regular project security risk status and progress reports for decision-making purposes.

  • Ensure that project and position sensitivity requirements are integrated and implemented into broader enterprise-wide system and process renewal activities (for example, system projects, communities of practice and policy generating bodies).

Job requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

  • a Bachelor’s degree (NQF-level 7) in Security, Security Risk Management, Business Management, Project Management or equivalent;

  • five years’ experience in a facility security environment or related field;

  • a Project Management certification will be an added advantage; and

  • experience in construction and/or ICT project management will be an added advantage.
