​18 month Contract Team Leader- Personal Lines Insurance

This leadership role is responsible for leading a team of underwriters. Proving leadership to shape departments goals, coaching and development of team members to achieve individual performance objectives are critical for this role. They ensure brokers are being responded to in a professional and timely manner and make underwriting decisions that will drive underwriting profitability.

What you will do:

  • Performance management of individual staff by providing consistent coaching and mentoring. Includes creating performance plans for career development and working with team members to meet individual goals.
  • ​​Understand corporate and departmental goals, engage team members, and create alignment with overall corporate and departmental direction. Engage in conversations with internal and external stakeholders to articulate corporate direction, goals and plans and create collaborative conversation to achieve results.
  • ​​Lead and manage workflow processes for calls and transactions in a fast-paced environment to ensure SLA’s for the department are met or exceeded. ​

What you will need to succeed:

  • Post secondary education is preferred with related studies in insurance
  • Minimum 5 years personal insurance experience
  • 2 years prior leadership experience

The expected base salary range for this position is $81,000 - $131,000. Depending on your relevant experience, skills, qualifications, market conditions and business needs, base compensation may vary. You have the potential to earn more through Gore Mutual’s discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.

Please note: This range reflects the expected base salary for this role but may not represent the full compensation range for all experience and skill levels. During the recruitment process, we will discuss and consider how your unique qualifications align with the broader range for this position.
