In this challenging role, you will be supporting the FA - Foundation & Alumni department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following.
Development Officer II is responsible for cultivating new and existing donor relationships, managing the plan for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for major donors to college. Mentor and assist team in developing pipeline of potential donors.
Employee uses college priorities and philanthropic goals to prioritize work activities and garner philanthropic support. Employee expected to operate with minimum supervision accepting "mission" type direction. Employee has access to state and local policies and procedures, easy access to members of the Board of Directors, and frequent contact with college leadership.
Works with development team to advance fundraising, scholarship opportunities and support of key priorities identified by the college. Culitavates and maintains effective relationship with existing and prospective donors that result in commitments of new major gifts and planned gifts. Helps to plan major gift campaigns, scholarship opportunities, and special events in support of the execution of major strategic initiatives. Develop, maintain, and solicit existing and potential major donors such as individuals, corporations, and foundations to develop levels of solicitation for capital and other resource contributions through various gifting techniques.
Manages a unique set of programs, including stewardship events, (i.e. annual gala components, scholarship receptions, dedications, groundbreaking, etc.) custom and standardized stewardship reporting, tokens of appreciation, and annual donor communications that serve to further engage and cultivate existing donors.
Utilize Raisers Edge software to record activities, facilitate moves and evaluate effectiveness of major gift initiatives and campaigns in meeting revenue and metric goals. Develop programs designed to increase business, individual, and foundation financial support of the college's goals.
Manage a portfolio of 100-150 major donors. Plans, develops, and executes appropriate donor recognition and stewardship strategies for donors.
Assist in donor related activities and stewardship events and efforts. Works with members of the Board of Directors in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gift donors. Build and maintain relationships with volunteers and community leaders. Demonstrating exceptional customer service and professionalism is expected as a DO II attends many college functions and activities. Other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
Salary range quoted is based on 40 hours per week, this position is 30 hours per week and salary offered will reflect reduced hours.

Bachelor's degree and proven experience in major gift/development, donor relations, sales or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been acquired may be substituted.
Bachelor's degree plus five years relevant major gift and planned gift experience. Knowledge of principles and procedures pertaining to professional fundraising activities. Knowledge of journalistic and public relations methods and procedures for planning and conducting large-scale fundraising activities. knowledge of college goals and objectives. Ability to relate alumni and development programs to college goals and objectives. Ability to establish good working relationships with alumni, businesses, students, media, faculty, and other potential donors to the college. Develops proposals for major gift solicitiation. Delivers and closes major gift propsals.
