About the Role

We're looking for a Senior SAP SD Functional Analyst with strong expertise in SAP Vehicle Management System (VMS) and hands-on experience with the VELO transaction

This role is focused on supporting and optimizing end-to-end vehicle lifecycle processes within an automotive or heavy machinery environment. You'll work across sales, logistics, procurement, finance, and external integrations to ensure SAP VMS processes operate efficiently and align with business needs.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of SAP SD, vehicle allocation and sales processes, variant configuration, VMS action matrices, and cross-module integration with SAP MM and FI/CO.

What You'll Be Doing

• Configure, support, and optimize SAP SD and SAP VMS business processes.
• Manage the complete vehicle lifecycle within SAP VMS, from production or procurement through inventory, customer allocation, sales, delivery, billing, and after-sales processes.
• Configure and operate the SAP VELO transaction, including vehicle search, overview, detailed VIN information, and process actions.
• Define and maintain the VMS Action Matrix, including primary and secondary actions that control vehicle status transitions.
• Configure vehicle master data, chassis or VIN information, vehicle statuses, and configuration matrices.
• Support end-to-end vehicle sales processes, including quotations, sales orders, outbound deliveries, and billing.
• Configure vehicle allocation rules for assigning vehicles in stock or production to dealer and customer sales orders.
• Integrate SAP VMS with SAP SD pricing and Variant Configuration processes.
• Configure pricing conditions based on vehicle characteristics such as model, engine, color, equipment, and optional features.
• Collaborate with SAP MM teams on procurement processes, purchase orders, goods receipts, supplier invoicing, and vehicle stock movements.
• Support subcontracting and vehicle modification processes involving external suppliers and accessory installation.
• Ensure acquisition, logistics, and modification costs are correctly allocated and tracked at VIN level.
• Coordinate SAP VMS integration with SAP FI/CO for financial postings, cost control, and vehicle profitability.
• Analyze incidents and business requirements, identify root causes, and propose functional solutions.
• Perform basic debugging and collaborate with ABAP developers on technical investigations.
• Work with SAP VMS BAdIs and enhancement points to implement customized business logic.
• Support IDoc-based integrations and interfaces with automotive manufacturers, OEM systems, dealer platforms, and third-party applications.
• Produce functional specifications, process documentation, test scenarios, and user guides.
• Participate in functional testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing, deployments, and post-production support.
• Work directly with business stakeholders, dealers, importers, logistics teams, and technical teams.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience as an SAP SD Functional Consultant or Functional Analyst.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP Vehicle Management System — VMS
• Advanced knowledge of the VELO transaction and its main operational components.
• Proven experience configuring and managing the VMS Action Matrix.
• Strong understanding of vehicle lifecycle processes, vehicle statuses, VIN management, and vehicle allocation.
• Solid experience with SAP SD sales processes, including sales orders, deliveries, billing, pricing, and customer management.
• Experience with SAP Variant Configuration and characteristic-based vehicle pricing.
• Strong understanding of integration between SAP VMS, SD, MM, and FI/CO.
• Experience with automotive procurement, vehicle inventory, goods movements, and supplier invoicing.
• Knowledge of VIN-level acquisition, modification, and logistics cost management.
• Experience with IDocs, interfaces, and integrations with external systems.
• Ability to perform basic SAP debugging and collaborate effectively with ABAP teams.
• Familiarity with SAP VMS BAdIs, user exits, and enhancement frameworks.
• Experience preparing functional specifications and coordinating technical developments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced understanding of automotive or heavy machinery business processes.
• Knowledge of importer, dealer, fleet, OEM, and dealership operational models.
• Good communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into SAP solutions.

Nice to Have

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations or migrations.
• Participation in full-cycle SAP implementation projects.
• Experience integrating SAP with OEM manufacturing systems or dealer management platforms.
• Knowledge of SAP Warranty, Customer Service, or after-sales processes.
• Experience with interfaces using APIs, middleware, SAP CPI, or PI/PO.
• SAP SD or SAP Automotive certifications.
• Experience working with distributed international teams.
