GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In this challenging role, you will be supporting the AXS - Auxiliary Svcs department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive annual calendar of institutional events and celebrations. Establish event standards, protocols, and brand consistency across all college-hosted events. Collaborate with executive leadership to design high-impact events aligned with strategic goals. Serve as the lead planner for major college-wide events (e.g., commencement, convocation). Serves as the chair for all planning committees for internal events for the college
Oversee all logistics including venue coordination, catering, audiovisual, décor, security, and accessibility compliance. Coordinate with internal departments (Academic Affairs, Student Services, Foundation, Auxiliary Services). Manage event timelines, run-of-show documents, and day-of execution Ensure compliance with college policies (risk management, contracts, procurement, ADA, safety).
Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources. Source, evaluate, and manage vendors (catering, rentals, entertainment, AV, etc.). Negotiate contracts in accordance with procurement policies. Maintain a preferred vendor list and performance evaluations.
Ensure all events reflect the college’s brand, mission, and institutional priorities. Coordinate with Marketing/Communications on event promotion and messaging. Design event experiences that enhance student engagement, employee morale, and community presence.
Serve as the primary liaison for event requests from campus departments and leadership. Provide consultation and guidance to departments planning events. Collaborate with the college foundation, alumni relations, and community partners.
Develop and track KPIs for event success (attendance, satisfaction, cost per attendee, engagement). Conduct post-event evaluations and implement improvements. Maintain documentation, templates, and best practices for institutional use. Participate as an active team member of Auxiliary Services and preform additional duties as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration or administrative services. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for required work experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in higher education or public sector environment. Familiarity with Auxiliary Services operations (catering, facilities, bookstore, etc.). Knowledge of procurement, contracting, and risk management practices. Experience in planning and hosting major events. Bachelors degree in related field and 3 years relevant work experience.
