Summary: Responsible for taking orders of seated guests, running food and drinks, keeping track of tables and tabs, bussing during and after service, and providing great, upbeat customer service.
DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:
Essential:
- Display working knowledge of all menu items and prices.
- Complete side work as assigned.
- Respond to the needs and requests of guests.
- Display knowledge of correct accounting procedures.
- Display knowledge of regular functions of the POS system.
Basics:
- Attend required meetings.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Be extremely courteous to all customers and fellow employees.
- Report unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately.
- Maintain hotel equipment in proper working conditions.
- Any other duties assigned by your immediate supervisor.
QualificationsPhysical Requirements:
- Standing/Walking: Constantly. Concrete, tile, rubber mats covering tile, carpet, stairs.
- Crouching (Bend at knees): Occasionally. Cleaning, stocking supplies.
- Stooping (Bend at waist): Occasionally. When taking orders, picking up and setting down trays.
- Reaching (overhead/extension): Constantly. Reaching overhead supplies, serving guests and retrieving hot/cold plates at arm’s length extension.
- Twisting (knees, waist, neck): Frequently. Serve guests, view restaurant, maneuver through crowds and staff.
- Handling/grasping: Constantly. Set full plates and glasses at tables, carry trays and supplies.
- Balancing: Constantly. Carry trays of food and beverage containers. Set items on table, remove items on table.
- Pushing/Pulling: Occasionally. Move chairs and tables. Average weight: 10 lbs. force. Maximum weight: 20 lbs. force.
- Fingering/feeling: Frequently. Write orders, operate tabit POS, garnish plates and drinks, fold napkins, set table with silverware.
- Lifting/Carrying: Constantly. Carry full trays of food and beverage; carry supplies. Average weight: 20 lbs. maximum weight: 40 lbs.
- Food handlers and TABC certified.
