Direct Support Professional (DSP) – $19.50–$25/hr

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We are preparing to support a young woman who will soon be moving into her own apartment in Macungie, PA, and we are seeking three part-time DSPs to share a 7-day schedule.
As a DSP, you will assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), community participation, and behavioral support while helping clients live independently. If you are compassionate, reliable, and looking for meaningful work where you can make a real difference, we would love to meet you.

What You’ll Do
As a DSP, you will provide hands-on support that helps individuals build independence and confidence. Being a DSP is a rewarding experience – you will genuinely make a difference in someone’s life. Responsibilities include:
• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks
• Support individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment
• Communicate with Abound team members, families, and external parties (case managers, etc.)
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Schedule Details
This referral will require 4 hours of In-Home & Community Support (IHCS) per day, 7 days a week.
We are hiring three part-time DSPs to split the schedule and provide coverage for one another.
Anticipated Schedule:
Sunday: Flexible
Monday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Tuesday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Wednesday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Thursday: Flexible
Friday: Flexible
Saturday: Flexible
Driving is required for this service, and DSPs will receive the higher end of the IHCS pay range to compensate for transportation.

Requirements
• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
• Willingness to assist with personal care as needed
• Ability to lift or use adaptive equipment depending on client needs
Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required — we provide paid training and support.
Pay
Starting Pay: $19.50–$25.00 per hour
