Job Description

Global Media and Digital Studies (GMDS) Program invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor of Global Media and Film Studies to begin in August 2023.

Qualifications

We seek a candidate with strong general background in global media and film studies and a specialty area in one (ideally two) of the following: transnational media, global media and/or film production, and media and digital studies methods. The teaching load includes advising senior Independent Study thesis projects and teaching Introduction to GMDS, Introduction to Film Studies, Introduction to Digital Studies, upper-level courses in Global Media and Digital Studies, and/or television and/or film production. A Ph.D. in media, film, communication and/or digital studies with a global focus. In addition, the successful candidate will advise Senior Independent Thesis projects on student-generated topics. The College of Wooster enrolls a diverse student body (24% domestic students of color and 15% international students); applicants should have experience with diverse student populations.
