
The Centre for Quantum Mathematics (QM) at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invites applications for 1-2 positions as Scientific Assistant with emphasis on either pure mathematics with relations to quantum theory or with emphasis on theoretical physics.
The targeted starting date of the position is 1 August, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.
We are seeking a highly motivated quantum algorithms researcher to develop advanced computational methods for solving partial and ordinary differential equations (PDEs and ODEs) with applications in fluid dynamics, weather forecasting, and climate modeling. The role bridges theoretical algorithm design and practical quantum circuit implementation, contributing to cutting-edge research in quantum scientific computing.
Requirements
The candidate must have a MSc degree in mathematics or theoretical physics. The candidate must further have an emerging research track in the field. We are seeking highly motivated candidates, who work and communicate well in an international team.
Situation of the position
The QM centre is located at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Faculty of Science on the international campus in Odense, Denmark. QM is established with the ambition to create a highly international and interdisciplinary group within a broad spectrum of pure mathematics and mathematical physics. Odense is a fast-growing international community with an open Scandinavian culture, affordable housing and living costs.
