FKP is hiring a Medical Assistant to join the team!

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting healthcare professionals in providing care to patients. This role supports physicians and clinical staff through a variety of administrative and patient care activities, including maintaining patient records, coordinating appointments, assisting with examinations, and performing standard care procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general back-office support to physicians.
  • Assist providers with examinations as needed.
  • Stock and monitor inventory levels of medical supplies.
  • Monitor and maintain medication sample closets.
  • Prepare and assist patients for testing.
  • Obtain results for examinations as requested.
  • Obtain laboratory results, present them to the physician for review, and notify patients of results as instructed by the physician.
  • Answer patient calls and respond in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Conduct final review of charts after chart preparation.
  • Train back-office staff on an as-needed basis when requested by the Office Administrator.
  • Respond to and comply with requests for information using the most appropriate communication method, including fax.
  • Complete all requests within established office policy timeframes.
  • Follow all rules and regulations regarding confidentiality and protection of patient information.
  • Deliver information to patient care areas and other designated locations, including provider offices.
  • Complete the referral process for specific procedures when requested by the Office Administrator.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to support excellent customer service.
  • Communicate and engage effectively with others.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to learn, share knowledge, and develop processes that improve the transfer of information.
  • Follow and maintain all policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant certification program.

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • Combined education and experience may be considered as a substitute for the minimum experience requirement.
