
Coordinates countywide pre-award planning, organization, preparation, and post-award administration of various grants assigned to departments of Dallas County. Interacts with department directors and administrative staff to ensure grant compliance with regulatory, funding agency, and policy requirements. Provides guidance and support to departments in the identification and development of grant opportunities.
Education, Experience and Training:
Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in English, Journalism, Public Administration, Human or Social Services or in a job related field of study. Three (3) years of professional work related experience.
Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public. Knowledge of regulations pertaining to grants, contracts administration, and the research and budget processes. Abilities to interpret guidelines, policies, procedures and regulations. Ability to create budgets for grant proposals/applications.
Eligible candidates must complete a technical examination as a mandatory component of the selection process. This assessment is designed to evaluate competencies and skills in grant coordination. Please note that the successful completed of this assessment is required for any candidate to be considered further for this position.
