Job Description

Supervises staff and oversees the daily operations of the Dallas County Mail and Supply room to include issuing supplies, preparing monthly statistical reports, and processing and distributing mail.

Management Scope: Supervises approximately three (3) non-exempt employees.
1. Oversees the daily operation of the mail and supply room; trains, and assists clerks. Monitors GPS (Global Positioning System) for Mail and Supply vehicle(s).

2. Maintains inventory; orders supplies and forms for the County by preparing and submitting requisition forms to Purchasing.

3. Maintains records for auditing purposes and submits monthly reports to the Auditor’s Office, reflecting charges for all County departments’ supplies.

4. Works with Dallas County Records Center Supervisor to ensure required records management supplies (i.e. custom boxes) are properly requisitioned, on-hand for immediate receipt and charged back to the requesting department. Maintains accurate records for auditing purposes.

5. Receives, reviews, submits and tracks the ordering of rubber stamps and name plates requested by Dallas County departments to awarded vendor; ensuring contract compliance.

6. Performs other duties as assigned. Education, Experience and Training:
Graduation from an accredited high school/GED program. Five (5) years job related experience or 60 hours of college or a combination of the two. Experience in a customer service environment a plus.

Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, organize and process work and establish and maintain effective working relationships and excellent customer service with other County employees. Ability to communicate effectively with other county departments, effectively use telephone and related equipment. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License and good driving record. Mandatory drug test prior to and during employment.

Physical/Environmental Requirements:
Requires prolong sitting, standing, and walking. Ability to lift files, boxes, and other materials up to 25 pounds, unassisted.
