Job Description

Responsible for remodeling and maintenance of Dallas County Facilities. Read blueprints, layout walls, ceilings and floors. Install suspended ceilings, drywall, VCT, doors, jambs, locks, cabinets, counters, ceramic tile. Knowledge of laminate work. Knowledge of paints, tape and bed, wall finishes, wall coverings. Construct new walls. Knowledge of roughen electrical and plumbing, ceilings systems. Concrete forming and pouring. Install restroom stall parts and accessories. Pull electrical, computer and telephone cabling. Demolition of all types of walls. Window installation.
1. Reads blueprints to ensure the proper materials are being used for the job. Plans and build walls and ceilings according to prints.

2. Lays floor tile, repair sheetrock walls; performs carpentry work and build all types of woodwork, cabinets, and bookshelves; hang doors.

3. Performs other duties as assigned. Education, Training and Experience:

Graduation from an accredited high school/GED Program. Three (3) years of utility related experience or 45 hours of college or combination of the two.

Special Requirements:

Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and pass security clearance check.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to climb ladders; lift weights in excess of 50 pounds.
