Job Description

Operates a vehicle to make deliveries and pick-ups including high-value items and sensitive documents at multiple substations. Performs mailroom and other clerical duties as required.
1. Operates a van, car, pickup, small bus or other vehicle to pick-up/deliver materials, supplies, receipts, time-sensitive items license plates, individuals and items of value (bonds, checks, etc.) at main office and various substations. Maintains confidentiality of information and documents in accordance with departmental and Dallas County policies and procedures. 45 E

2. Loads materials and supplies in vehicles and performs mailroom and other clerical duties as required.

3. Receives, checks, stores and maintains a variety of supplies, and conducts inventory and maintains records of transported items and overages/shortages.

4. Performs a variety of moderately complex support clerical tasks which may include: inputting, processing and distributing a variety of documents and records; collecting, compiling, filing and maintaining data; reconciling data, funds or inventory; receiving, reviewing and entering deposits/payments; processing withdrawals; interacting with the public to provide excellent customer service; and responding to general inquiries. Works within a well-defined framework of policies and procedures, under moderate supervision.

5. Performs related duties as assigned. Education, Experience and Training:
Graduation from an accredited high school/GED Program. Three (3) years of work related experience operating a motor vehicle and performing clerical duties or 45 hours of college credit or a combination of the two.

Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must have a valid Texas Drivers License and good driving record. Will be required to provide a copy of 10-year driving history. Must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code.
Mandatory drug test prior to, and will be subject to random, unannounced drug and/or alcohol testing during employment.

Physical/Environmental Requirements:
Requires the ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs. assisted. Ability to withstand prolonged sitting, standing, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, lifting, stretching and climbing ladders. Must be able to work in varying conditions, surroundings and weather conditions.
