Job Description

Provides nursing services to patients, to include administering minor injury treatments, dispensing medication, administering skin tests and injections, and monitoring compliance.
1. Provides nursing services to patients according to protocol, to include administering treatment for minor injuries or illnesses, administering injections and venipuncture, dispensing medication and collecting sputum.

2. Maintains accurate and legible records according to protocol.

3. Follows up on injured, ill or delinquent patients.

4. Screens and investigates contacts according to procedure.

5. Provides and delivers medications as needed and monitors drug compliance.

6. Schedules patients by treatment regime and maintains call-back files.

7. Educates patients on transmission of diseases and on compliance with prescribed treatment.

8. Communicates with patients and family members according to protocol.

9. Performs other duties as assigned. Education, Experience and Training:
Graduation from an accredited high school/GED Program. Completion of an accredited vocational school of nursing program.

Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public. Licensed Vocational Nurse in the State of Texas. Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License, with a good driving record.

Physical/Environmental Requirements:
Requires prolonged sitting, standing, and walking, with ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted. Ability to travel to various work site locations.
