Job Description
Provides project support to the department and its programs in implementing activities to achieve program objectives, to include coordinating department programs with community agencies, providing consulting services to management, analyzing, making recommendations and presenting alternatives, and providing assistance to resolve business and technical issues in the areas of planning, performance measurement, change management, and periodic assessment review.
Management Scope: Supervises exempt and non-exempt.
1. Develops program project plans, implements project management techniques, and conducts regular assessment of program progress
2. Leads multiple project work teams and provides facilitation for stakeholder/program meetings to identify strategic goals, objectives and necessary action steps.
3. Identifies, collects, and conducts research to complete data analysis; identifies best practices, and provides advice regarding performance measures and performance targets; and develops and improves models and methodologies as needed for program and project implementation.
4. Ensures documentation of meeting discussions, recommendations and action steps, and ensures follow-up on all action steps. Assists with implementation and monitoring of milestone accomplishments. Communicates project and program information.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Training:
Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business, Social Work, Planning, or related field of study. Two (2) years of work experience in health or social service planning or administrative experience, including one (1) year supervisory experience.
Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Knowledge of research methodologies, cost/benefit, analysis, statistics and financial models; Ability to communicate with all levels, including management, both verbally and in writing. Skilled in facilitation methods, providing internal consulting services, and project management methods; Ability to work independently and with teams; Ability to understand, interpret and apply detailed and complex information; Ability to manage implementation of recommendations. Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and a good driving record.
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
Standard office environment. Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, and the ability to lift files, boxes and other materials up to 25 lbs, unassisted. Ability to travel to various work site locations.
