🚀 Senior Product Engineer — Applied AI & Data

🌎 Location: Latin America
💼 Engagement: Full-Time | Contractor Agreement
💰 Compensation: US$3,600/month

🔎 About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Engineer with strong experience in Applied AI, PostgreSQL, and full-stack product development to build production-ready AI capabilities within a mature SaaS platform.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who can take features from backlog to production, work confidently across backend, database, and frontend layers, and apply AI where it creates real product value.

🤖 What You’ll Do

• Build and ship LLM-powered features using model APIs, structured outputs, tool/function calling, RAG, embeddings, and retrieval.
• Design AI solutions with security, reliability, evaluation, observability, latency, and cost in mind.
• Develop and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, SQL queries, indexes, migrations, and data workflows
• Deliver end-to-end product features using Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, PostgreSQL, and Angular
• Troubleshoot production issues using logs, metrics, traces, and database execution plans.
• Work independently from Jira ticket → development → testing → QA → production
• Use AI coding tools responsibly while maintaining strong engineering and code-quality standards.

🛠️ Core Technical Skills

Must Have:

• 5+ years of senior-level software engineering experience.
• Proven experience shipping at least one LLM/AI feature to real users
• Strong Node.js + JavaScript/TypeScript
• Strong PostgreSQL & SQL — query optimization, indexing, transactions, migrations, and data integrity.
• Experience with a modern frontend framework — Angular preferred; React/Vue considered
• Experience building and operating production web applications
• Strong understanding of APIs, authentication/authorization, background jobs, and integrations.
• Ability to work effectively in an established, complex codebase.

• RAG, embeddings, vector databases or pgvector

• Multi-tenant SaaS
• Experience with financial, accounting, billing, ERP, or business-management platforms
