Job Description

Treasury Management Sales Consultant

Location: Seattle, Washington

Work Arrangement: Primarily in-office, five days per week

Opportunity Overview

A relationship-focused commercial banking organization in the Seattle market is seeking a Treasury Management Sales Consultant to support and expand its commercial client relationships.

This opportunity is ideal for a treasury management professional who enjoys working directly with business clients, identifying financial solutions, and partnering with experienced commercial bankers.

Unlike traditional treasury sales positions that emphasize aggressive new-business origination, this role focuses on strengthening established client relationships, conducting consultative reviews, and identifying opportunities to deliver additional treasury management solutions.

The organization combines the personalized service and accessibility of a relationship-driven banking culture with the treasury capabilities and resources of a larger financial institution.

What Makes This Opportunity Different

  • Relationship-driven sales model: Work primarily with existing commercial relationships and opportunities generated through established banking partnerships.
  • No requirement to bring an existing book: Success is driven by consultative selling, client engagement, and identifying appropriate treasury solutions.
  • High-touch client service culture: Join an organization that prioritizes personalized service, long-term relationships, and client satisfaction.
  • Direct access to leadership: Benefit from a collaborative environment with accessible, experienced decision-makers.
  • Strong operational support: Dedicated teams manage treasury documentation, implementation, and operational execution.
  • Sophisticated treasury solutions: Offer commercial clients a broad range of cash management and payment solutions.
  • Collaborative commercial banking model: Partner closely with relationship managers and other banking professionals.
  • Developing sales organization: Contribute to an evolving treasury sales function focused on client engagement, revenue opportunities, and service excellence.
  • Career development opportunities: Potential advancement within treasury sales and access to broader opportunities across an affiliated banking organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted treasury management resource for commercial banking clients.
  • Partner with commercial relationship managers to support existing and prospective client relationships.
  • Conduct treasury relationship reviews to evaluate client needs and identify opportunities for additional services.
  • Present treasury management solutions to commercial clients in a clear, professional, and consultative manner.
  • Identify opportunities to expand treasury fee income through appropriate product recommendations.
  • Support sales efforts involving commercial credit card programs, merchant services, and cash management solutions.
  • Recommend treasury products that align with clients' operating requirements, payment processes, and banking relationships.
  • Maintain a high level of client satisfaction through proactive communication, responsiveness, and problem resolution.
  • Coordinate with treasury operations, implementation, product, and relationship management teams to ensure successful client onboarding and service delivery.
  • Track client interactions, sales opportunities, relationship reviews, and follow-up activity using CRM tools.
  • Escalate client concerns appropriately and ensure timely resolution.
  • Contribute ideas to improve treasury sales processes, client experience, and team effectiveness.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Relevant experience in treasury management, cash management, commercial banking, treasury sales, or commercial client relationship support.
  • Working knowledge of commercial banking products and treasury management solutions.
  • Strong verbal communication, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to explain treasury products and financial concepts to business owners and financial decision-makers.
  • Experience working with commercial relationship managers or business banking teams.
  • Consultative sales approach focused on identifying client needs and delivering appropriate solutions.
  • Strong client service orientation and professional relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate with internal teams, and follow through on client commitments.
  • Familiarity with commercial card, merchant services, account analysis, or related treasury products is beneficial.
  • Experience using CRM platforms, such as Salesforce, is helpful.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Working knowledge of applicable banking regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, accountable, and comfortable working in a small-team environment.

The organization is open to candidates with varying levels of treasury management experience. Strong communication skills, client-facing presence, and the ability to learn are particularly important.

Preferred Business and Relationship Characteristics

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting commercial banking relationships rather than necessarily originating a personal portfolio of clients.

Preferred experience includes:

  • Managing or supporting established commercial client relationships.
  • Conducting treasury needs assessments and relationship reviews.
  • Identifying opportunities to deepen existing banking relationships.
  • Recommending cash management, payment, commercial card, or merchant solutions.
  • Partnering with commercial bankers on prospective client opportunities.
  • Supporting complex treasury relationships with multiple products or service requirements.
  • Demonstrating success through client satisfaction, relationship expansion, and treasury revenue opportunities.

An existing book of business is not required.
