🌿 Pest Control Field Technician Intern — Learn the Business from the Ground Up Mosquito Authority & Pest Authority | Shelbyville, IN | Part-Time or Full-Time | Seasonal
Are you interested in entrepreneurship, small business operations, or the green/outdoor industry? This isn't your typical desk internship. You'll spend time in the field doing real work — and alongside it, get direct access to a franchise owner who will invest in your growth beyond the job itself.
What You'll Actually Do:
You'll serve as a Mosquito & Pest Control Technician, applying our Barrier 360 treatments, Mosquito Barrier treatments and other add ons to residential and commercial properties using proven products and equipment. That means working outdoors, driving a company vehicle to client sites, carrying backpack sprayers (up to 60 lbs), and delivering the kind of service that earns 5-star reviews.
This role is physical. You'll be on your feet across multiple properties each day, in Indiana heat and humidity, navigating yards and uneven terrain. We'll be upfront: it's hard work. But if you can handle that, here's what else you'll walk away with.
What You'll Learn:
Beyond the field work, the business owner will personally share:
This is hands-on mentorship from someone who has built a 9-year specialized pest control business in the Indianapolis metro as well as rural areas. If you're curious about how small businesses actually work — from the field to the finances — you'll get a genuine behind-the-scenes look.

We are the Mosquito Authority, and we’re happy to be the exception, not the rule. In a world of cut-throat, money-motivated business types, we stand out. We are not a huge corporation that’s been bought for a price. We don’t have board meetings or wear business suits. And we aren’t in it just to make a quick buck. We are a group of the most dedicated, passionate individuals you will ever meet. We adore our families. We cherish our free time. And we love what we do.
After all, we don’t just kill mosquitoes. We make back yards worth mowing and front porches worth swinging. We bring friends and family together for picnics and pool parties, barbeques and bonfires. We believe in our mission, we believe in ourselves, and we believe in one another. But we also believe that happiness and success are directly proportional to kindness and contribution. That’s why we share our knowledge with the public, our profits with the causes we care about and our message with… well… everyone.
We are The Mosquito Authority, and we are in the business of making life better. Not just for our customers, but for every one we meet. And not because it benefits the bottom line, but because it makes the world a nicer place.
