Bosch Korea is seeking a Head of Legal (Legal Director) based in our Yongin office, Korea, to establish a strong local legal presence supporting our sites, which combine R&D, manufacturing, and sales and service operations and are home to close to 1,600 employees.

The primary focus of this role is to provide day-to-day commercial legal support, with the flexibility to contribute to a broad spectrum of other legal matters, such as corporate law, governance, and regulatory compliance, depending on the candidate’s expertise and interests. This role will partner closely with global business teams and be integrated into Bosch’s global legal function, while also contributing to the local leadership organization.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Legal Support

  • Review, draft, and negotiate both supplier and customer-facing agreements, including contracts governed by Korean law or the laws of other jurisdictions
  • Partner with local business, sales and service, and operational stakeholders to provide proactive legal advice that enables efficient, practical, and risk-aware decision-making
  • Coordinate with the global commercial legal team to ensure alignment with Bosch's contracting practices and negotiation strategies

Local Legal Representation

  • Act as Bosch Korea’s primary in-country legal representative in Korea
  • Provide timely, pragmatic legal advice on a broad range of day-to-day matters
  • Ensure alignment between local needs and Bosch’s global legal strategy and policies
  • Instruct and manage external counsel for specialized matters, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality legal support
  • Serve as the local legal representative for any government inquiries or investigations

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified lawyer in Korea or equivalent foreign legal qualification with strong Korean law expertise
  • At least 10–12 years of relevant experience as counsel at a major law firm or multinational company, including experience in a senior legal capacity
  • Fluent in Korean and English, with clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong multinational transactional experience, including commercial agreements, business acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; credibility to effectively interact with and influence executive management and directors
  • Deep understanding of business models, technology landscapes, and regulatory frameworks relating to AI, with demonstrated experience in evaluating process improvements, including AI-enabled initiatives to enhance efficiency
  • Demonstrated team management experience, with a proactive approach to managing team priorities and fostering collaboration among team members
  • Experience in the automotive industry in Korea, whether with an automotive manufacturer, supplier, or other technology-driven environment, is a plus
