Job Description

1. • conduct CAP survey at shipyard;
   • conduct ship condition inspection to existing ships at yard, port, anchorage, etc.
   • conduct on/off hire inspection
   • conduct pre-purchase inspection
   • prepare survey/inspection report and close all comments from the client.
   • support Marketing activity by visiting ship managers/owners, presenting BV CAP service;
   • other technical support as required (IHM, N&V test, new building supervision, etc.);
   • support Local Service Line Leaders deliver assurance and inspection projects;
   • support sales and marketing, business and new service line development; and
   • compliance with the requirements of the BVS QHSE management system.

   Requirements:

   • As a minimum we would expect the successful candidate to meet the following requirements:
   • over 5 years relevant work experience;
   • sailing experience/ship’s superintendent or Class surveyor for ships in service, or repair yard manager experience is preferable.
   • familiarity with statutory and classification society rules;
   • familiarity with marine equipment and system commissioning; and
   • good communication skills, competence in written and spoken English;
   • self-motivated with willingness to work as part of a team, learn and take risks;
   • pro-active in terms of developing competence, problem solving and proposing solutions;
   • capable of problem solving and proposing solutions; and
   • ability to work efficiency to deadlines, under pressure and in situations of uncertainty.
   The following would be looked upon favourably
   • familiarity with alternative fuels and systems on board ships, FSRU, FLNG, FPSO etc.
