Η εργασία αφορά τη δειγματοληψία και έλεγχο ποιότητας καυσίμων σε πρατήρια καυσίμων πανελλαδικώς (ηπειρωτική Ελλάδα και νησιά), τουλάχιστον μια φορά ετησίως. Τα καύσιμα προς έλεγχο είναι βενζίνες, πετρέλαια κίνησης και πετρέλαιο θέρμανσης. Ο έλεγχος ποιότητας των καυσίμων θα διενεργείται με τη χρήση Κινητών Εργαστηριακών Μονάδων (ΚΕΜ). Τις ΚΕΜ θα οδηγεί κατάλληλο προσωπικό 2 οδηγοί/αναλυτές ανά ΚΕΜ.
